P.J. Tucker was taken by surprise on the day of the NBA trade deadline this season, as he was unexpectedly traded to the Toronto Raptors minutes before the actual deadline.
Although Tucker was heartbroken to find out he was leaving Phoenix, the place he’s called home since 2012, the move ended up working out in his favour. Not only did he get to join a contender, but he made some new friends and got some awesome gifts shortly after he arrived.
Tucker is known throughout the league as one of the biggest sneakerheads, which is why Cabbie ended up surprising him with a custom pair of Air Jordan’s, which were designed by famous shoe customizer Brittish Pena.
Well, Tucker kept his reputation alive on Monday night for Game 1 between the Raptors and Cavaliers, as he was rocking something a little special for the opening game of the series.
Deciding which shoes to wear on a daily basis must be hard enough for any sneakerhead, but it’s probably a complete nightmare for any sneakerhead who plays in the NBA.
Unfortunately for Tucker, his kicks did not help out on Monday night as the Raptors dropped Game 1 in Cleveland.
