The Washington Capitals are kind of like the Golden State Warriors of the NHL in the sense that they just want the regular season to be over so they can get to the postseason.

The recent playoff struggles for the Capitals are well documented, but we imagine they want nothing more than to prove to everyone that this year is different.

Until the playoffs begin, though, there's still meaningful hockey to be played as Washington's only one point up on Columbus in the race for the Presidents' trophy.

Tuesday night, the Caps defeated the Flames 4-2 to earn their second straight win, and in the victory, T.J. Oshie recorded his 30th goal of the season.

Alex Ovechkin, who assisted number 30 on the season for Oshie, was asked about the career milestone and had the perfect quote.

Nothing more needs to be said.

30 goals is a career high for Oshie, who will be a UFA come the summer, and like Ovi said, he's going to get paid, whether it's by the Caps or another team.

Aside from pointing out the obvious, though, maybe Ovi was subtly reminding Washington that they should probably re-sign the man.

After all, Oshie's nearly been a point-per-game player in his career as a Cap, and he and Ovi seem to be pretty good friends.

Happy b day Oshe babe!its gr8 to have man like u in the team!wish u all the best!😘

Before any decision is made, though, the playoffs come first.
