If you take a look at the rookie scoring leaders in the NHL, you'll notice there are a lot of players from one team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Everyone knows about the 'Big Three' of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander, but key contributors like Connor Brown, Nikita Zaitsev, Zach Hyman and Nikita Soshnikov are also rookies.
A big reason why the Leafs are in a playoff spot entering play Friday night has been the play of their rookies all season long, and this one stat perfectly displays that fact.
The three rookies to reach the 50-point mark for Toronto are Matthews, Marner and Nylander, who got to 50 points Thursday night in a 5-0 Toronto win against Tampa Bay.
Now, can anyone name the three Jets that did it in 1992-93? Before you continue reading, write your answers down or say them out loud to yourself or whoever is around you.
Teemu Selanne clearly led the way, but Alex Zhamnov and Keith Tkachuk both had great seasons, too.
More importantly, though, the Jets made the playoffs that season and lost in the Division Semi-Finals, so maybe that's a good omen for the Leafs.
