Fans don’t expect to see much of their star players during the preseason, but they also don’t expect to see them get hurt, either.

The New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns went head-to-head in NFL preseason action in Cleveland on Monday night, and Giants fans saw their season flash before their eyes early on in the second quarter.

After Eli Manning completed a pass to Odell Beckham Jr., the Giants receiver was taken down by Browns defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun and was slow to get up.

In fact, Beckham left to the locker room almost immediately after he returned to the sidelines after the play and appeared to be in a great deal of pain as he tried to make his way back to the locker room.

According to the Giants, Beckham’s injury didn’t seem to be too serious as they tweeted out that he suffered an ankle sprain on the play.

Considering Beckham has led the team in receiving each of the last three seasons while averaging 1,300 receiving yards a season, you can bet Giants fans were beyond nervous about the possibility of him suffering a terrible injury.

Hopefully they’re right and it isn’t too serious, because the NFL season would be a little less exciting without OBJ.
