Prospect Wide receiver John Ross may not have won an island for setting the new NFL combine 40-yard dash record, but he didn’t leave empty-handed.
Prior to the combine, Adidas offered an entire island to whichever prospect could beat Chris Johnson’s 40-yard dash time in their 2017 Adizero 5-Star cleats. Ross decided to stick with Nikes though, and the decision paid off.
After watching, you can’t help but think “What could have been if he wore the Adidas cleats!”. However, the speedster received perhaps an even better deal; a spot on Nike’s team. After committing to Ross, Nike took a jab at Adidas over twitter.
Yes, even Nike trolls now.
Apparently Adidas will have to offer more than just an island for next year’s 2018 NFL Combine.
