The 18-year-old scored 38 goals and totaled 86 points in 57 games with the Halifax Mooseheads last season, and also added three goals and four assists in six playoff games.

The team wasted no time getting their first overall selection out to New Jersey and the team introduced Hischier and his family to the New York Red Bulls ahead of the New York Derby on Saturday afternoon.

As part of the youngster’s visit to Red Bull Arena, Hischier received his very own custom Red Bulls jersey and showed off his soccer skills to members of the team.
