A couple of weeks ago, a tweet by Twitter user Carter Wilkerson went viral when he asked Wendy’s how many retweets it would take to get free nuggets for a year.
Wilkerson probably tweeted this as a joke, but it ended up making him a Twitter sensation. Currently sitting at 3.2 million retweets on his original tweet, Wilkerson has received support from a lot of big names including Ellen DeGeneres, Genie Bouchard and Aaron Paul.
On Wednesday, Wilkerson got some more support as NASCAR driver Michael McDowell is adding the #NuggsForCarter decal to his car for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Wilkerson is still well off his initial target, but this support from McDowell’s team should really help him out. Eighteen million retweets is a lot to ask for, so hopefully Wendy’s rewards him for all the free marketing he’s given them so far.
