After starting the 2017 CFL season with seven straight victories, things haven’t looked so bright for the Edmonton Eskimos as of late. They managed to overcome a lot of big injuries early on in the season but now the injuries are starting to catch up to them.
The Eskimos returned back home on Friday night and were looking to get back into the win column, but the Saskatchewan Roughriders had other plans. Early on in the first quarter, the Roughriders got on the board first and it came courtesy of a beautiful one-handed grab by Naaman Roosevelt.
It was starting to look like Kevin Glenn’s pass was going to sail right by Roosevelt, but that’s when the third-year receiver out of Buffalo, New York, made an outstanding athletic play to come up with his fourth touchdown of the season.
Roosevelt wasn’t the only member of the Roughriders who showed up to play on Friday night. Saskatchewan was all over Edmonton in the first half of the game and went into halftime with a 26-6 lead to show for it.
