With how many MMA matches there are every day around the world, this was bound to happen eventually.
At Shamrock FC 285 on March 11, Axel Cazares vs. Alan Vasquez were squaring off, and with just under 1:30 left in the first round, they knocked each other out at the same time. Vasquez ended up being declared the winner, because he stood back up from his fall before Cazares.
Despite an absolutely mangled nose, Vasquez somehow came out on top.
This does resemble one other fight we’ve seen before, although it wasn’t MMA. It was in the movie Step Brothers, where Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly knock each other out at the exact same time on their lawn.
There were less weapons in the MMA fight, though.
