Everyone loves The Lion King and these two MLB prospects playing in the All-Star futures game gave them a reminder of the film.
Of course, Blue Jays fans likely need to reminder, whenever he is called upon, Roberto Osuna locks things down for the Blue Jays. He has become so steady that the catch phrase of “Osuna Matata” has really stuck with him. Well, he got some Lion King competition on Sunday after two prospects were photographed next to each other on the field.
Roberto Acuna and Yoan Moncada created the opportunity for this excellent pun.
Of course, after seeing this, some fans got in on the action with some photoshops as well. One of the lines that fits perfectly with Osuna is the “It means ‘No Worries’”, but there were some different interpretations for these young guns.
And of course, it also brought out some of the most coincidental names to stand beside each other in the past.
Unfortunately, Moncada is a White Sox prospect and Acuna is a Braves prospect, so this meeting may not happen too often in the future. We’ll just have to treasure this photo while we can.
