New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad is making the best of his time in the offseason by releasing his very own music.
After a promising first campaign in New York where he recorded 37 points in 56 games, the 24-year-old hit the studio and recorded a catchy track entitled ‘Forever’. Since its release on June 2, 2017, the song has accumulated more than 23,000 views on YouTube.
Not half bad! In case you didn’t catch what the song’s about, the hockey player (or whatever you want to call him) provided a description on his page:
Forever “is about the ups and downs of a relationship. You want distance, but you can't stand being away from the other person. There are always things you like and don’t like, but in the end your feelings always make you want to stay. KEEP UP TO DATE WITH MIKA…and subscribe to be the first to hear upcoming releases
The Swede joins a long list of athletes that have attempted to balance athletic and musical careers. Basketball players such as Shaq and Damien Lillard have experienced some success in the rap world, while Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell has released a few songs of his own.
If you’re looking for a new summer song to kick-it to by the pool, Forever might be the one. It's just got that summer feel to it.
Not a bad start, Mika.
