The Detroit Tigers opened up a three-game series with the Kansas City Royals in Kansas City on Monday and ended up stealing a victory with a late comeback victory.

We rallied with a four-run eighth inning to win on Monday night.

On Tuesday, the Royals were looking to get revenge against the Tigers and decided to send a rookie to the mound.

Sarasota, Florida native Eric Skoglund made his MLB debut on Tuesday night and got a nice little welcome from future Hall of Famer Miguel Cabrera before the two went toe-to-toe in Miggy’s first at-bat of the night.

The 24-year-old rookie ended up walking Cabrera, but it was a very cool gesture from one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

It seemed to help Skoglund settle down, too, as he pitched 6.1 innings, gave up just two hits and struck out five batters in his MLB debut and is in line for the win as he left the game with the Royals up 1-0.
