If there's one thing hockey players never do, it's use injuries as an excuse for anything, whether it be a bad game or a loss.
How many times after a team is eliminated from the playoffs do we hear about a certain player that played with some injury that sounds extremely painful? More often than not is the answer, and that's another reason why we think hockey players are the toughest athletes in the world.
It's not just playing through injuries that make them tough, either. Hockey players love to show off their battle scars and it kind of seems like they actually enjoy the bumps and bruises.
Take Max Talbot, for example, who took to Twitter to thank Santa for a painful looking Christmas gift he got during a game against Torpedo.
That doesn't look like a very good gift at all, but Talbot and his team still won the game, and Max scored.
When he was in the NHL, Talbot was known for doing anything to help his team, whether that be blocking shots or scoring goals, and while he's still doing anything to help his team win in the KHL, he's contributing on the score sheet a lot more.
In 42 games, Talbot has 26 points, which is his highest point total since the 2011-12 season when he played for the Flyers.
