To those fans that think being a Major League Baseball hitter is easy, you couldn't be more wrong.
Hitting is one of the most difficult things to do in sports.
Think about it this way, the best hitters in the league hit .300 or better. In other words, the best hitters in baseball fail to get a hit in seven of every ten plate appearances.
It's not just high-velocity fastballs that make it hard for hitters, either.
Breaking balls are so tough to even make contact with if thrown correctly, and in some cases they're pretty much unhittable.
Marcus Stroman's slider on Saturday looked like one of those unhittable breaking balls, but don't just take our word for it, ask AL MVP candidate Carlos Correa about it.
How do you hit that? You don't, you just don't.
Stroman's slider wasn't just fun to watch when he was using it to strike people out.
Movement like that helped Stroman pick up the win Saturday to improve to 9-5 and lower his ERA to 3.28.
