The Toronto Marlies are making a late push to take over the top spot in the AHL’s North Division. On Tuesday, they were in Manitoba to wrap up their season series with the Manitoba Moose.

The Marlies got on the board first, courtesy of a beautiful goal by 22-year-old Kerby Rychel.

That was just the beginning for Toronto as they went on to defeat Manitoba 6-3.

Rychel was acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs from the Columbus Blue Jackets this past offseason and he currently leads the Marlies with 45 points in 60 games.

The youngster scored 40 or more goals twice in the OHL, so scoring goals like this one is nothing new to the 2013 19th overall draft pick.
