Sidney Crosby notched an assist on Chris Kunitz’s first period goal against the Winnipeg Jets earlier in the game on Thursday night, bringing him to the coveted 1000 point mark in his career. Crosby is the 13th fastest player to reach the mark and the fastest active player to do so. For a player widely considered the greatest player in today’s NHL, he can sometimes be taken for granted by fans, teammates and coaches alike, but on Thursday night in Pittsburgh, every one of those people appreciated all he has done.
The moment Crosby notched 1000, the @Penguins Twitter account put a video out of Penguins' coaches and players giving Sid the Kid kudos on his milestone accomplishment. The most notable congratulations came from none other than Evgeni Malkin, who poked fun at Crosby while also giving him the credit he truly deserves.

Crosby notched two more points in the game, including the overtime winner... because he's Sidney Crosby...
