Roberto Luongo should one day receive the Lifetime Twitter award from the NHL, because everything he tweets is gold.
He seems to know exactly when to chime in on just about every subject around the NHL, so we were almost waiting for him to say something about the Expansion Draft are the protection lists were released yesterday. There were quite a few surprises, including some people who were a little shocked by Luongo’s own exposure in the draft.
It seems like so long ago that Luongo was making jokes about his own contract with James Duthie on TradeCentre, but it’s that same deal that will probably keep him in Florida throughout this deal.
He’s pretty aware that he won’t be moving as well, so he did the Golden Knights a favour and narrowed it down for them a little bit.
Luongo may not think he’s going to go anywhere in this draft, but his ol’ pal Eddie Lack wouldn’t rule him out. In fact, he straight up says he would take Luongo if he had the opportunity. Oh, to be in love.
We’ll find out who really gets taken on Wednesday (Many expect it to be Jonathan Marchessault), but if they want they goat, he’s ripe for the picking.
