As excited as the Sens and their fans were Tuesday night after they eliminated New York, the Rangers and their fans were equally devastated and heart broken.
For the 11th time in Henrik Lundqvist's career, he and his Ranger teammates were eliminated from the playoffs.
The Rangers haven't won a Cup in over 20 years, but having Lundqvist in net has given them a chance to end the drought each and every year.
Unfortunately New York has come up short each and every playoff run with Henrik in net. After Ottawa's empty net goal to seal it and the final buzzer sounded, you could see just how crushed Lundqvist was after yet another sad ending to a season.
You can't help but feel for the guy. Lundqvist has won Olympic Gold and a Vezina trophy over the course of his career.
A Stanley Cup is all that's left for the 35-year-old to win, but he's not getting any younger and he only has so many more chances to accomplish that goal.
After the game when Henrik spoke to the media, you could just tell how crushed he was, and understandably so.
We imagine most hockey fans would agree with us when we say we hope Lundqvist wins a Cup because he's more than deserving of one for his play on the ice and the person he is off the ice.
