The 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale is known as the rowdiest and most exciting hole in golf, and there's many reasons for that.
On Thursday afternoon, Canadian professional golfer Mackenzie Hughes made a lot of new fans when he hit the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale in an Auston Matthews jersey and started tossing hats out to the fans.
On Friday, Luke Donald followed in Hughes’ footsteps by handing out Chicago Cubs hats to fans on the 16th hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
It’s pretty awesome to see the golfers embrace the atmosphere at the tournament and add to it by handing out free gear to the fans in attendance.
Donald is an English professional golfer, but the 39-year-old went to school at Northwestern University and his wife is a Chicago native, so that explains his love for the Cubs.
You never know what you’re going to witness on the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale.
