DeMar DeRozan is headed to New Orleans to start in the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.
Thursday evening DeRozan, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Jimmy Butler were all named as starters on the Eastern Conference All-Star team. DeRozan's nod was well deserved, as he has absolutely torched the scoring sheet in the first half of the NBA season, breaking franchise records along the way. But while DeRozan was able to land a starting spot, his teammate in the Raptors back-court, Kyle Lowry, was a notable omission. Lowry kept the vibes positive, though, congratulating his teammate on Instagram right after the starters were officially announced.
Among Lowry's many positive hashtags, including, EarnedNotGiven, CuzzinIsStartin, there was also one chirp (#HeStillUgly) which is to be expected from DeRozan's best pal on the team. We'll follow in K-Low's footsteps and keep things positive, but we're pretty mad that the two Raps missed the chance to start next to one another, as Lowry definitely deserves to be there.
