LaVar Ball has somehow been one of the biggest stories of the 2016-17 basketball season.
Alongside Westbrook, Durant, the Warriors and the Cavs, his antics and his son Lonzo have been a storyline all year long. It all started with the ridiculous claims about his son, then about himself and eventually it led to a shoe that nobody could believe was real.
All along the way, the person we haven’t heard from that much is Lonzo himself. He has mentioned that his dad has always been the same way, so it hasn’t surprised him.
Well, now in the Father’s Day commercial he mocks the way his dad’s behavior compares to other fathers after a surprising turn.
We’re sure this isn’t going to change LaVar’s behavior at all, but you have to wonder how he feels about it. Still, you have to wonder what Lonzo’s attitude about his father is approaching the NBA draft.
As Lonzo mentioned, he told 29 other teams not to draft him, so we’ll have to wait and see if it affects his draft stock. He is ranked in a position that has him fitting pretty perfectly with the team his father wants him on, the Lakers, but who knows if their willing to take on the media circus that will follow the family.
