Last month LeBron James ranked second overall on Forbes' 'Highest-Paid Athletes' list, having earned $86.2 million in 2017, so it should come as no surprise that the King is pretty business savvy. Outside of James' $33.2 million annual salary, the Cavaliers star has a whole assortment of endorsement deals and business investments that have netted him a fair amount of money, including his investment in the up and coming pizza franchise, Blaze Pizza.
According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, James invested less than $1 million in Blaze Pizza back in 2012 and stands to gain around $25 million for his ten percent stake in the company. Not a bad slice of the pie.
Rovell reports that Blaze Pizza, valued at $250 million, recently sold a percentage of the company to a private equity firm. As part of James' original investment deal, he's set to receive endorsement payments which could see his investment grow to $35million or $40 million.
Back in April, Blaze Pizza was named the fastest-growing restaurant chain in the United States.
