It was a wild scene at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. It wasn’t because something crazy happened during the game like an insane buzzer-beater or anything like that, instead it was because former New York Knick Charles Oakley got into it with the security guards and was arrested and escorted out of the building.
The Knicks ended up losing the game 119-115, but all everyone in the basketball world could focus on was Oakley completely losing it the way that he did. As other games around the league started to end, players across North America found out what had happened in New York. One player in particular reacted to Oakley’s actions and gave the former Knick nothing but praise.
LeBron James did not stay quiet and quickly saluted Oakley after the Cavaliers’ victory over the Indiana Pacers. It’s pretty clear that Oakley has had enough with the Knicks, and perhaps James is on the same page as him considering all we hear about on a daily basis is a possible trade between Cleveland and New York.
We’re not shocked that James saluted Oakley after all of this since he was the one who stood up for himself and other players when he absolutely destroyed Charles Barkley by calling him out on live television.
