While many athletes were at the ESPYS Wednesday night in Los Angeles, many were also in Vegas as NBA summer league continued.
The most intriguing game of the night was the Lakers taking on the 76ers for one reason, and one reason only, Lonzo Ball was back in the lineup.
There was something that jumped out at fans almost immediately when Lonzo stepped on the floor, and it of course had to do with his shoes.
Rather than wearing his "ZO2s", Lonzo wore Kobes (Nike) for the game.
Ironically enough, Ball had his best game of the summer wearing the Nike shoes and he helped Los Angeles squeak out a hard-fought win.
After the game, Lonzo was asked about why he wore the Kobes instead of his signature shoe:
Based on his last remark, Ball isn't married to the idea that he has to wear his shoes every single game, and that's not a bad thing, especially when you consider that LeBron James noticed the shoe change and gave his thoughts on the decision.
Speaking of LeBron, he wasn't at the ESPYS Wednesday night. Instead, he was watching Lonzo and the Lakers in summer league (here come the James to L.A. rumours). (H/T: Sports Illustrated)
