Things are just getting better and better for notorious NBA father LaVar Ball.

After releasing his own shoe and seeing his son become the 2nd overall draft pick this past June, Ball has gradually turned into one of the biggest figures in basketball pop culture. Fame can often lead to a change in lifestyle, and the 49-year-old recently proved that he is no exception. On a tour with ESPN, LaVar provided a look at his brand new 16,000 square foot home in Chino Hills, which he proclaims is the “the best house in an 80-mile radius”. The home is 13,000 square feet larger than their previous one.

With a family full of athletes, it only makes sense to include an elevator in the house, right? Guess you’ve got to protect those million dollar knees.

The mansion was built in September and is visibly not completely furnished yet. When asked why he made the move, Ball replied:

The following is an excerpt from For The Win:

“I had to get behind the gate. It got too crazy. Knocking on the door, jumping over fences, now gotta get through the gate and you gotta get through my gate.”

It’s somewhat surprising to hear LaVar is seeking privacy when you consider his thirst for public notoriety and attention from the media. The bottom line is that when you claim to be a big baller, you’ve got to live like a big baller. The Balls are doing just that.
