The one question every basketball fan was asking after the DeMarcus Cousins trade went down Sunday night was probably something along the lines of, "They couldn't get more for him?"

Sure, the draft picks are nice and Buddy Hield could turn out to be a good player someday, but on paper, New Orleans stole DeMarcus from Sacramento in broad daylight, much to the dismay of Kings fans.

The nightmare continued for said fans on Monday as Kings' GM Vlade Divac spoke to the media about the trade and admitted that there was a better offer on the table two days ago for Cousins.

You can almost hear the pain in his voice as he admitted they ended up with less than what they were offered two days ago for Cousins.

Obviously this is going to be an even tougher pill for Kings fans to swallow, but if you were a believer that it was time for him to go, then you're probably just happy they got some assets back in return.

Sacramento hasn't made the playoffs since the 2005-06 season, but they're in ninth in the West heading into the unofficial second half of the season now that the All-Star break is over.

Meanwhile, New Orleans isn't far behind, and now they've got Cousins.

Did the #Pelicans give up too much for #DeMarcusCousins, or did the #Kings lose this trade?
