To the casual hockey fan, faceoffs may not seem that important, but in crunch time, winning the draw can be the difference between winning and losing the game.
That fact was on display, but not in the way you would think in the KHL.
With the game tied 0-0 in the third period in a game between Sibir and Metallurg NK, 21-year-old Konstantin Okulov stepped in to take an offensive zone faceoff, but rather than winning it back so his team could gain possession of the puck, he decided to score the game-winning goal instead.
Kudos to Konstantin for that awesome goal. Game-winners are always cool to score, but this unique one's probably one of the best of Okulov's career thus far.
The goal was also his 11th of the season which is 10 more than he scored last season.
