Amur Khabarovsk and Barys Astana went head-to-head in KHL action on Monday night in Russia in a battle of two teams just trying to stay in the conversation heading into the playoffs. However, you don’t have to watch teams doing well in the standings to witness a highlight reel goal.
The two teams were scoreless late in the second period until Jan Koler caused a turnover in his opponent’s zone and came up with the puck. That’s when he turn and spotted a wide open Tomas Zohorna who did the rest all on his own.
First he made the defenceman regret attempting to block the shot almost immediately, then he made the goalie look absolutely foolish right after and finished off the play by scoring while he was in the air. It really doesn’t get much nicer than that.
