As Subban fell to the ice, he grabbed on to one of Crosby’s legs and held on tightly while he was laying on the ice. With Subban’s arms locked around Crosby’s leg, the Penguins captain decided to throw a few shots at the Predators defenceman’s head.

Both players received a two-minute penalty for holding, but a lot of fans thought that Crosby should have received more than two minutes.

Former NHL referee Kerry Fraser weighed in on the scuffle after it happened and believes Crosby should have received an extra penalty for the head shots he delivered.

Fraser is best-known for not giving Wayne Gretzky a five-minute major for a high stick on Doug Gilmour in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final back in 1993, so he knows a thing or two about missed calls, but he’s also made a lot of good calls during days as an NHL referee and knows when he sees a headshot.
