Kelly Olynyk, a Canadian centre playing for the Boston Celtics was on the receiving end of the biggest hit delivered on Thursday night.
That’s saying something. There’s playoff hockey on as well, but this is was easily the biggest body check. He had knocked over the Wizard’s Kelly Oubre at the top of the key and as the play was blown dead, Oubre came at him with a full head of steam and dropped him with a totally clean check…if it was hockey.
Oubre was dangerously close to hitting the ref there. We’re not sure if a suspension will come down with how things played out, but he was very close to having a long one.
He did end up being ejected from the game and now the Celtics are getting blown out. Bradley Beal went into the day thinking neither team was playing with intent to injure, but this may have changed things.
