Major Leaguers absolutely tore the cover off the ball in June en route to a record setting month. Blue Jays slugger Justin Smoak, who has hit nine home runs in the month of June, was the one to help break the all-time MLB record for most collective home runs in a single month, launching a three-run homer on Friday that went down as the 1070th in the majors in June.

Impressively, Aaron Judge accounts for half of those home runs...obviously we're kidding. BUT, the young Yankees slugger did hit 10 home runs this month, including this mammoth shot. The Dodgers and Mets collectively hit 100 home runs, ranking at the top of the home run list in June.

The power surge has helped the Dodgers solidify their place atop the red hot NL West, but unfortunately for the Mets, their homers haven't really helped them in the race for a Wild Card spot in the NL, with New York currently sitting 9.5 games behind the Colorado Rockies. Good month for those who dig the long ball!
