Justin Bieber was in Manchester for Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester concert and one of the local professional players organized a pickup game for the star to play in before he left.
Bieber likes to get in a game of puck any chance he gets, and is especially fond of playing in Manchester, as he has played with the local pro team (The Manchester Storm) two times before this occasion. This time though, he left a special gift behind to benefit the bombing victims.
TMZ spoke to a member of the Manchester Storm who organized the game, Paul Swindlehurst, and he explained the encounter:
“The favor paid for itself ... Paul says Justin donated his hockey stick to be auctioned off at a Storm charity game. Last year, a Bieber jersey hauled in a few thousand pounds at auction ... so they're expecting the stick to be a big-ticket item. All proceeds go to bombing victims and their families.”
A big weekend of donations from Justin Bieber, who has had hockey on his mind all week long. Perhaps because he was sporting an LA jersey with the team in Manchester, he felt the need to explain why he wears different jerseys all the time on Twitter.
We doubt he’ll get any hate over this appearance (At least he shouldn’t), because of everything he did to raise money for the victims of the terrible tragedy in Manchester. Good on the Biebs.
