It feels like every year there’s always a ‘catch of the year’ candidate in the Super Bowl. This year, there were a couple of catches that could have won that honour, but it’s without a doubt the catch made by Julian Edelman late in the fourth quarter.

With the Patriots running out of time, Tom Brady chucked up a pass to Julian Edelman. The ball was tipped up in the air by the Falcons cornerback Robert Alford and it looked like it was going to be an interception to seal the victory for Atlanta, or was going to be incomplete. That’s when Edelman pulled off one of the craziest catches in the history of the NFL.

The science behind Edelman's Super Bowl snag

On Tuesday night, Inside the NFL released another version of the catch which is even better than the original. Here is Edelman making his game-saving catch while being mic’d up.

The mic’d up productions are easily one of the best things about the NFL, but to have a soundbite like this is beyond gold. You probably thought it was going to sound a lot more hectic than it did, but its clear all Edelman had on his mind was coming out on top with the ball.

A catch that will surely go down as one of the greatest in Super Bowl History. #SB51 #TSNTurningPoint
