Blue Jays fans have had some time to digest the whole Edwin Encarnacion situation since his comments about being disappointed the team signed Steve Pearce, but with 'Double E' still out there, there's still hope that he will be back in a Blue Jays uniform next season.
That being said, it doesn't seem likely that will be the case, despite how badly fans want that to happen, so Jays fans have to feel somewhat content that their team has made the necessary moves to replace Edwin and Jose Bautista if they don't return.
Still, it's bittersweet and watching Edwin's workout videos as he prepares for the 2017 season is kind of upsetting because for the first time since 2009, that hard work will benefit a team not named the Blue Jays.
And for the fans holding out hope, should we read into this picture of Edwin working out in a Toronto shirt?
