If you were to look at the MLB standings Thursday morning, you'd notice a few things that might surprise you, one of which being the Twins are in first place in the AL Central.
Minnesota had the worst record in baseball a season ago, but this season they're off to a stellar start and Wednesday night they won their fourth straight game to sweep the Orioles in Baltimore.
22-year-old Jose Berrios struck out 7 in 6.1 innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the year after a disastrous 2016 campaign in which he went 3-7 with an ERA of 8.02.
One of his strikeouts against the Orioles got more attention than the others, though, because he rung up Caleb Joseph with one of the most unhittable breaking balls you'll ever see.
Joseph wasn't the only one that felt the wrath of Berrios' breaking balls, though.
As you can see, there's a reason Berrios 1.66 ERA this season, and that reason is he's throwing batters pitches that are just absurd.
After his 11-strikeout game against the Rockies a week ago, Ian Desmond had some high praise for the young pitcher.
If the Twins manage to maintain their spot atop the AL Central, Berrios will be a big reason why.
