The city of Houston and surrounding areas were severely damaged during Hurricane Harvey back in August, but the residents managed to work together to get the city back up and running in no time.

One person who played a huge role in helping the entire city out during the tough time was Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, who helped raise more than $37 million towards the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and it all started with one simple message on his social media platforms.

Although Watt’s season came to an end after he suffered a tibial plateau fracture in his left leg during the Texans’ Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, it didn’t stop the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year from doing his part around the city, which included throwing out the first pitch before Game 3 of the World Series.

After everything the Houston residents experienced over the past few months, the Astros’ World Series title was more than just a huge accomplishment for the organization, it was one for the entire city.

Now that the celebration has come to an end and the players are finally enjoying their offseason. Astros second baseman Jose Altuve sent all of his teammates a special “fine whiskey” to get the offseason underway, and he even sent a package to J.J. Watt and included a special handwritten letter.

Both Altuve and Watt moved to Houston in 2011 after Altuve was promoted to the Astros and Watt was drafted 11th overall by the Texans, and they’ve been two of the biggest names in town ever since their rookie seasons.

This is a very classy move by the 2017 World Series champion.
