Sports fans around the world know Michael Jordan as one of the greatest basketball players of all-time. It’s hard to argue against his six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls. But in the year between the first three titles and the last three titles, Jordan took his talents to another sport and signed a minor league baseball contract with the Chicago White Sox.
The best basketball player of the era had retired from the game to become a 31-year-old rookie baseball player. The all-star on the court would have to learn to become a more humble player on the diamond.
Just after Jordan had completed his first three-peat with the Bulls, and prior to his signing with the White Sox, he took in the 1993 MLB All-Star Game, and we saw just how humble he could be with baseball players. While in the locker room, Jordan approached Ken Griffey Jr., a player who some would say was Jordan’s baseball equivalent at the time, and asked for an autograph from Junior.
Just a couple of GOATs being star struck by each other and enjoying each other’s company. It doesn’t get much cooler than that.
