Chris Johnson’s infamous 4.24 40-yard dash record time has officially been broken.
John Ross, a wide receiver out of the University of Washington was this year’s hopeful to challenge Johnson, and he did it by .02 milliseconds. Here is a look at his sprint.
Take a look at what his 40 looked like against some of the NFL’s current best receivers.
Prior to the combine, Adidas stated that they would give an island (that’s right, an island!) to the player who could beat the record wearing their 2017 Adizero 5-Star cleats. Unfortunately for Ross, he opted to wear Nikes, however, he has reportedly already been signed by the powerhouse company.
That was quick (no pun intended).
What a special moment for Ross, the NFL, and its fans across the world.
