Friday, the Nashville Predators got some bad news with the announcement that Ryan Johansen's thigh injury would require season ending surgery. As much as Preds fans are probably disappointed that the will be without their star centre, you've got to feel for Johansen who will now have to watch his team continue their Stanley Cup campaign from the sidelines.
Fortunately, Johansen got a very special visitor on Friday after his surgery to help cheer him up: his dog, Doug.
The image was originally shared by Johansen's girlfriend Madison Bell on Instagram on Saturday, but was later taken down. For those who follow Johansen on Instagram, you've likely already seen that Doug the Boxer has a heavy presence on his account, including an especially adorable video from national pet day.
Perhaps Doug should be invited as the fan of honour to help bring some good luck to the Preds in their series?
