Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon is one of the greatest managers in the history of the game.
He managed to make the Tampa Bay Rays to the postseason four times in eight years with the team – the only four postseason appearances in franchise history – and led the Cubs to their first World Series title in 108 years last year.
On Tuesday night, the Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 9-5 to improve to 19-19 on the season, but it happened to be a very big win for Maddon.
The 63-year-old improves to 1000-871 in his managing career and celebrated the historic feat in a classy way.
The three-time Manager of the Year decided to celebrate his 1000th victory as an MLB manager by taking the podium with a celebratory glass of red wine.
