The Patriots are famous for trading for, drafting, or signing players that are relatively unknown or have some character concerns and making them superstars.
The best example of this is Wes Welker, who was unknown before becoming arguably the best slot receiver in NFL history after getting to New England.
Danny Woodhead, Aqib Talib, Julian Edelman, and Dion Lewis are some other examples that further prove that point, and on Saturday against Houston in the Divisional Round, Lewis was a star.
Before Lewis was making NFL history with the Patriots, he was backing up LeSean McCoy.
Lewis was drafted by the Eagles in the 5th round of the 2011 draft, but he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2013 Emmanuel Acho.
Unfortunately for Lewis, he didn't play a game for the Browns due to injury and was eventually cut. The Patriots then snatched him up and the rest is history.
Now, back to the present, while Lewis was torching the Texans, Acho was watching and hilariously looked back on being traded for the running back.
Turns out, the man that traded Lewis for Acho, Joe Banner, was actually fired (not for making that trade specifically), and he reminded the football world of that fact.
Acho was grateful to Banner, the former Eagles President, for making the trade, though.
It's funny to look back on moments in time that felt insignificant at the time and really were the exact opposite.
The Browns and Eagles would probably love to have a player like Lewis on their team's right now. Yes, Philly has Darren Sproles, but he's aging and Lewis doesn't have much mileage on his body.
Cleveland, on the other hand, needs to add a ton of talent to their roster, and Lewis certainly fits the bill.
