The Houston Texans lost a lot more than just a football game on Sunday night.
Early in the first quarter, the life was sucked out of the stadium as J.J. Watt went down and left the game with a tibial plateau fracture.
Last season, Watt managed to work his way back to the field during the season despite having back surgery earlier in the year, but this time his season is over for good.
After taking some time to take it all in, Watt broke his silence early Monday morning by sharing his thoughts about the injury on Twitter.
Most athletes mention how they’re going to put in work to come back stronger after suffering an injury, but the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year took the time to apologize to the fans and city of Houston.
You never want to see someone go down with a serious injury, especially when they’re one of the most exciting players in the game.
