The New York Jets have not been a competitive NFL franchise for a long time. For Jets fans, it hurts to think that their most competitive era in recent years was with Mark Sanchez leading their team.
Still, even for them, they’re setting the bar pretty low.
Muhammad Wilkerson, who had a down season last year (4.5 sacks), made what could be the least bold prediction ever as he guaranteed his team would surpass last season’s win total. Last season the Jets were 5-11.
Even with how bad the Jets have been in the last decade, they still only had four or less wins three times. Wilkerson is not exactly going out on a limb with that prediction, but he’s definitely being realistic.
From the team that had the most famous sports guarantee ever, things have certainly gone downhill.
