The New York Knicks have been somewhat of a laughing stock throughout the NBA since losing in the Eastern Conference semifinals back in 2013. The team has failed to finish above .500 every season since the 2012-13 campaign and is still ways away from becoming a contender again.

Things have been trending downhill for the Knicks for quite some time now, but things officially hit rock bottom on February 9, 2017, when former Knick Charles Oakley was bounced from Madison Square Garden and arrested shortly after during a game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

After being removed from MSG, Oakley has since received a ban from the arena, courtesy of owner James Dolan. With the Knicks hosting the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday afternoon, Dolan tried to get back in the Knicks fans’ good books by surrounding himself with former Knicks players.

Dolan made sure to load up on former Knicks players, to try to prove to the rest of the fans that he cares about the team and the players who helped make the organization what it is today and that the problem is Oakley and not him. However, Knicks fans continue to see right through Dolan.

The world’s most famous Knicks fan Spike Lee made a statement on Sunday by showing up to the game in his Oakley jersey.

Despite upsetting the Spurs on Sunday afternoon, the team is still in a giant mess and needs to figure something out soon before their reputation gets even worse.
