Jaromir Jagr will be playing in the NHL during the 2017-18 season. We feel like we've been waiting to say that for far too long.
Another phrase we've been waiting to say about Jagr for far too long? That the future hall-of-famer will finally be playing his hockey north of the border in Canada. Monday, the Calgary Flames officially signed Jagr to a one-year deal, finally putting an end to the speculation that the Czech winger may have played his last game in the NHL.
Following the news, Jagr spoke with reporters in the Czech Republic and touched on two important points. Firstly, that he's excited to finally play for a Canadian team, and second, that the 2017-18 season may be his last in the NHL.
Considering the fact that Jagr is entering the season at the age of 45, it's not that surprising that he believes that this may be his last year, especially since it took until October for him to find a team. Still, it's a little disappointing to hear, as he really had us convinced that he would be playing until he is 50.
Although, it's important to remember that he said 99.9%....he's saying there's a chance.
