The Toronto Maple Leafs have a plethora of rivals in the NHL, and the Buffalo Sabres are certainly near the top.
The two teams have been division rivals for years, and fans from both cities always make the trip to cheer their team on the road. Things haven’t been as heated in recent years, but that might change this season considering each team is expected to take a big step forward.
2015 second overall draft pick Jack Eichel was asked about his thoughts on the Leafs, and didn’t hesitate to speak his mind. At all. When asked about the their relationship, he responded with, "we don't like them. They don't like us."

Eichel’s Sabres saw plenty of action against Toronto last season, as they met five times from October to March. The Buds ultimately captured the season series 3-2, and were the only of the two to reach the postseason.

In some ways, Buffalo and Toronto share some similarities. Both organizations are led by a generational young American and are supported by a few skilled veterans and young rookies. Fans will have to wait until March for the two teams to meet, as they will face off a remarkable four times from March 5- April 2.
With only so many postseason spots available, their upcoming contests could end up being their most memorable in recent years.
