The NHL season starts in 12 days in Jaromir Jagr still hasn't been signed yet.
We don't want to start a panic, but there's a very real chance that the 2017-18 NHL season will not include any highlights from Jagr, as the 45-year-old legend is still currently a free agent. Despite making Sports Illustrated's 'fittest 50' list earlier this week, Jagr hasn't managed to attract the attention of any suitors in the NHL. However, HC Kladno, the Czech team that is owned by the Jagr family is still attempting to entice him to make his official return. First it was the jersey reveal, now it's this message from the team's coach:
Translation: "If he comes 10 minutes before he starts to play, he will play. He is the owner, he can do what he wants."
Some star players receive preferential treatment from their team in the form of a parking spot closer to the building, Jagr gets told by his coach that he can pretty much show up whenever he wants. Not bad. That's not to say that Jagr would actually want to show up in the second period and leave midway through the third to beat traffic, but still, it's nice to know the offer is on the table.
Please don't accept the offer, Jagr. The NHL needs you.
