Just as he did for the Heritage Classic between the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets, Wayne Gretzky got some beautiful vintage gear made for the upcoming Winter Classic.
We’ve already seen the jerseys, but now we get to see some of the gear that the players will be wearing in the game. Gloves, sticks, pants, bags and more were seen today as alumni from both outdoor games hit the ice.
That includes legends from the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs. The Blues have a stacked lineup with both Wayne Gretzky and Brett Hull suiting up. Wayne’s son, Trevor, also got in on the fun as he announced Wayne as he came onto the ice.
You can’t see it that well there, but Wayne had some pretty sweet vintage gear on. You can see some of that and plenty of other old-time gear below.
