Just give Josh Donaldson the MVP, he just pulled the greatest big league move we’ve ever seen.
The Bringer of Rain has been dealing with a calf injury for most of Spring Training, and he’s working his way back by playing in a couple minor league games in the meantime. He clearly understands that these games are of little importance, and he’s not risking any re-injury by running the bases.
After crushing a home run yesterday, he walked straight to the dugout. No nonsense baseball.
This has to be the greatest video ever for Blue Jays fans. Think about it:
- He’s feeling good, crushing minor league pitching.
- He’s playing it safe, making sure he’s ready for opening day.
- He saving any extra effort for the “Get it done” league.
Even his opponents respected the showmanship of the play. An assistant baseball coach at Lander University posted a text he received from a player who was on the other team.
He was in the dugout before the ball landed! M. V. P.
