Sports are wonderful for so many reasons other than just the pure joy and happiness of playing them.
For people of any age, sports, especially a team sport like hockey, teaches many important life skills like leadership, teamwork and dedication among other things.
That being said, sometimes parents just want to put their kids in hockey so they can learn to stickhandle and skate, and the life skills stuff is just a bonus.
In the latest edition of BarDown Toonz, cartoonist Pengellyink perfectly depicts this situation.
For all you hockey players out there, show this to your parents if this was them when you were growing up or if this is still them.
Also, be sure to check out the other BarDown Toonz comic strips like Puck Deflategate, LeBron the hockey player, Goalie Parents, John Scott's trip to L.A., and that one player who stinks up the dressing room.
